Great saucepot, I have been looking for a 4-quart covered saucepot for long time. I am very satisfied with it, and I use it everyday.
Plastic handles emit noxious fumes, (What's this?) This would be fine except that every time I use it, the handles heat up and emit the most foul chemical smell. Unless I ventilate the room like crazy, I end up feeling nauseas, with a headache. I suspect that if our gas stove had smaller rings, this might not be a problem, but I can't be sure. In the meantime, I can't use it anymore. Totally toxic.
Farberware Classic 4-Quart Covered Saucepot, (What's this?) This is an excellent size and multi-purpose saucepot. Not too large, not too small.
farberware 4 quart pot, (What's this?)
best for two, (What's this?) living just with my wife this is a great size for cooking a soup , bigos . we own set of farberware classic for about three years and we very happy with it.
Farberware Classic 4-qt pot, (What's this?) I have used Farberware Classic pots for the last 30 years - most are still the original ones I bought at that time. I had to replace this 4-qt pan because one of the side handles broke.
Pot for a Pound of..., (What's this?) Whatever you need to boil a pound of, this pot is it.I make big batches of homemade pasta sauce, and make pasta. Now, I don't have to make the sauce and move it to a bowl to use my big pot again to boil the pasta. Perfect.
Wonderful Buy !!!, (What's this?) The Farberware saucepot is easy to clean, light to hold and heats up quickly and evenly.
What are those stains?, (What's this?) Purchased this for it's very usable size (4 qts) and replacing a lost one we had. As fans of Farberware in the past, we thought stick with a winner. We received this promptly, no problem with Amazon. We then followed the "first use " instructions for cleaning. But when we used it for the first time, I was heating up saurkraut. for some reason, the interior sides and the inside lid stained a patchy gray/dark. Whether it was us, the saurkraut, or the pot, we're not sure, but the stain is there and we never had a problem like this before. We've tried scrubbing it out to no avail.
Will not buy this pot again, (What's this?) I bought 2 of these pots many many years ago. they were made in USA. this one that I just bought was made in Thailand - the pot looks a little taller, narrower and heavier than the ones I have. The quality is alright. I still love the ones that are made in USA. It is sad that these pots (farberware) are made elsewhere now.

Functional as well as beautiful, this 4-quart saucepot is made of heavy 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish and has an aluminum core in its base that spreads heat quickly and evenly. The core is completely clad in stainless steel so, like the rest of the pot, the bottom resists corrosion and discoloring and cleans up easily. Thick rolled rims add durability and make it possible to pour from the pan without dripping. Because the pan comes with a domed lid that self-bastes foods it can be used for braising on the stovetop or in the oven. (The handles are oven-safe to 350 degrees F and stay cool on the stovetop.) This multi-functional pot is dishwasher-safe and comes with a lifetime warranty against defects.
