Norpro KRONA 3 Quart Vented Pot with Straining Lid

Krona 3- Quart Sauce Pot, Gift for my mother in law.
Amazon Sent me a dented item (someone elses return?)., (What's this?) In all these years, I never got such junk from Amazon. It was not damaged in shipping to me. The inner box was all torn up. The pot was dented. No damage to outer box. I'll never order cookware from Amazon again. Do brick and mortar store would have put such junk on their shelf. To Amazon's credit, they did replace it. So, I finally got my pot after 3 weeks of hassle. I'll go to the local kitchen store next time.
Krona 3 Qt Pot, One thing that isn't noted in the product information is that the pot is MADE IN CHINA. Had I known I would not have purchased it, and will not purchase any further cookware by NORPRO USA.
Love the drain holes., (What's this?) I already have a pot with the same straining system. It's so incredibly convenient I can't imagine buying a pot without it now. That's why I got this one recently. However, the lid for this pot doesn't fit as well as the other one, which limits the usefulness of the straining system because of that little gap at the edges. (I wonder how well the Oneida pot system fits.) Overall, it's still a great pot for the price with very cool features.
Not bad for the price, (What's this?) This isn't a great pot, but for the price, it isn't horrible, either. On the good side, it has nice handles on the sides and lid. It has a good thick heavy bottom that heats evenly. On the bad, the lid does not fit well, there are large gaps between it and the sides of the pot, and the supposed "straining" feature is rudimentary at best. If you are looking for an everyday "beat-it-up and not worry about it" pot, then this one is for you.

Farberware Classic 3 Quart Covered Straining Saucepan

Exactly as expected!, (What's this?) This is my second pot like this... it's the perfect size for so many things! I still use my original Farberware Classic pots/pans set received as a wedding gift almost 25 years ago. It's held up wonderfully over the years...
Perfect!, (What's this?) I've been making my own yogurt and was looking for a saucepan in which to heat the milk that wouldn't turn into a dribble cup when it came time to pour the contents into the small yogurt jars. This pan solved all my problems. It's the perfect size to heat milk for a 49-oz batch of yogurt, the lip allows me to pour without spilling a drop, the heavy bottom heats evenly, the pan cleans up nicely after use and the design is attractive.
Farberward Classic 3 Quart Covered Straining Saucepan, (What's this?) The lid on this pot does not fit tightly and it would let steam out of the vented holes while cooking.
Farberware 3 qt saucepan, (What's this?) The concept of this pan is nice - a basic stainless pan for all around cooking. The nice features are the spout and drain holes in the lid which enable you to drain off liquids, without dirtying another colander, or risking losing your contents down the sink. Perfect for making mashed potatoes, and cooking vegetables. It's also nice to find a pan without a glass lid, which seems to be the standard nowadays; and the lid handle doesn't get hot like on so many brands. On the negative side, the pan seems a little light and thin compared to the stainless that I've been using for 40 years. Seems like it would dent easily. The worst part is that the lid does not fit perfectly and is something I will constantly have to fiddle with. I'm considering sending it back.
Farberware did their job!, (What's this?) When the package first arrived, I was disappointed. The lid didn't fit well on the pot, and there was a rattling sound coming from it, like something was stuck between the aluminum and stainless layers of the pots. I knew there was a lifetime warranty, but I also knew I would have to send a big, heavy pot across the country, which would cost a lot to ship. I decided to call Farberware and see if the rattling sound would be covered by the warranty, and if I should ship the lid back, etc. At first I was perplexed, because the lady just said "No. Don't ship it." I thought she was confused as to what I was asking, or thought I wanted to return it for a refund instead of a replacement. Anyway, she told me about some first-timer deal (not exactly sure what) where all I had to do was fax a copy of the packing list, along with a note of what was wrong, and my shipping address and that they would send me a brand new pot free of charge. I was skeptical. I googled the fax number, and couldn't find it related to Farberware anywhere. But I figured I would use the pot as it was and wait a few weeks. If it never showed up, I would be very disappointed, but the pot was usable so it wasn't worth the shipping cost to send it back.

ANYWAY, today I got a big package from Farberware with a brand new pot inside, just as promised, and it was perfect. The lid fit tighter and there was no rattling sound. I'm very pleased! I just wish I had sent in a complaint about the 1.5 quart straining pot I also bought. The lid doesn't fit well either, but I thought since both the pots had the problem I shouldn't worry about it. Oh well.

So all in all, it took a long time to actually get a working pot, but now that I have it I am pleased. The straining mechanism is nicer than having to get out a big bulky strainer and having to clean it too. I will say that when you have a pot full of hot water and pasta, it can be daunting having to pick up the pot and hold on to the handle and flip it over, but I haven't had too much difficulty. And it will probably be better now that the lid fits.
A Hobbled classic, Having eaten all the teflon off the bottom of my main saucepan I was excited to get this classic pot with a nice, stainless material. Every time I look at it I think of my grandmother's house. However, I've run into 2 problems with it:
1- the lid doesn't fit on perfectly. I believe the pan isn't perfectly round. I exchanged it when i realized this and the second had the same problem.
2- It doesn't form a seal, so if you are cooking something like rice where liquid levels are very sensitive it might not work out for you.

That said if it reminds you of your grandmother's house or you just want a decent quality classic pot I say go for it.
great little pot, (What's this?) This is a good size pot for a family of two to use for many purposes. It is great to make small batches of soup, cook vegetables, and boil pasta. Then I have the luxury of just tilting the pot, and not needing to get out a colunder to drain, it does if for you. I have a smaller one, but this is a better size for cooking pasta and potatoes.
Good idea, but badly fitting lid, (What's this?) I really do like this product, but since the lid doesn't completely fit on my pot I can't give it 5 stars.

Winware Stainless Steel 4.5 Quart Sauce Pan with Cover

Very solid pot, (What's this?) The 6 quart pot is great. Very solid and, at that size, pretty big. In my experience, heating seems even on the cooking surface, and the lid is just as firmly built and fits well. My biggest annoyance in the kitchen is thin, uneven pans and this is NOT one of them. Great solid pan for cooking any number of things.
Inexpensive with the benefits of more expensive pots, (What's this?) Nice, tall sauce pan with more volume than most other sauce pans.

The thick bottom holds the heat extremely well, which is one of the major reasons I bought it. Super pricey pots and pans usually have 5-8 (or so?) layers of metal on the bottom which really helps to buffer from the stove, and helps cooks make less mistakes.
Great price for a great sauce pan, (What's this?) I was hesitant but glad I tried these out. It's not what I would pay commercial prices for, but at the price, it delivers solid. I like how quick the bottom can be cooled after having boiling water in it. That was the primary purpose, to be the salted water boiling pot for pasta or anything else that may be a little harsh on my commercial Calphon pots which show some finish wear from the last nearly 20 years.

If you don't dump salt in such that it rests on the bottom while it heats, there's not problem with salt "stains".

If I had to pick a fault, it would be the handle which on the larger sizes, like my 6 qt. could use the help of a helper handle when full and heavy. The handle is round so depending on what you have in it or how your moving it, it may try to spin in your hand. But I can't imagine anyone trying to one hand a large pit like this anyway. The shape of the pot rim makes it really easy to assist with the other hand.

I don't think you can beat the price for this quality. I'm looking to add another piece or 2 for specific needs.
Good pot, (What's this?) I bought this 2qt sauce pan to replace my old 'non-stick' one, whose inside has been ripped off. The pot has very solid stainless steel, and very heavy, and it's great for boiling something. It is a little smaller than my old 2qt pan though, but I can live with it.

One thing I don't like is that the handle and the lid are both made of steel, which will get hot when heated. I would have preferred plastic handles and glass lid if I had found some better price.

I'm also concerned about the handle. It looks OK now, but I don't know whether it will stand long. I hope I can use it for 5 years.
Very pleased, (What's this?) An excellent pan for the money - nice weight, even heat distribution, cleans up nicely. Will buy other sizes as I need them.
Good pot, but has a flaw, (What's this?) I got this 4.5 pot as a replacement for a "non-stick" pot that had it's coating wearing off (and I've read some bad things about these non-stick coatings), so my requirements for a new pot were that it had to be stainless steel, had to have a single handed capable handle (as many pots this size have the two-handed short handles) and it had to be inexpensive. This pot fit the bill. Upon arrival I hand washed it and noticed that the welds used to fasten the long handle to the pot could be felt as very tiny pimples on the inside of the pot.
great pot for popcorn, (What's this?) This 'sauce' pan works great for stovetop popcorn! I specifically searched for a pot for this purpose and am very happy with how this pot performs. Heats great, pops the corn in short order, and the lid stays on (so no oil splatters). If you get this pot, I think you'll like it too.
better than expected, (What's this?) As another review noted, this pan does popcorn nicely.
Unexpectedly, the bottom is fully clad in stainless steel,
where exposed aluminum could be expected,
    as on old Farberware,
which leave marks on stove burners.
Awesome pot, (What's this?) This pot is great. It has a thick bottom and tight fitting lid. It's large enough even for whole spaghetti if you give it a minute to soften. I got it for making candies but haven't done that yet. I've used it for potatoes, rice and paste, it's just about perfect for all 3. The lid does get hot and the handle gets warm (but not quickly). The handle has 2 or 3 spot wields that are completely flush on the inside. This could be an issue but I'd think not for years. I plan on getting more of this brand. Possibly even converting all my pots and pans to Winware.

    All-Clad LTD2 1-1/2-Quart Sauce Pan

LOVE!!!!, (What's this?) The LTD2 collection by All-Clad is my first experience with truly gourmet cookware. There is one word that can sum up the experience. WOW! As a pessimistic consumer, I have come to expect very little quality from modern manufacturing. Even some of the time honored names have sold out their quality for the sack of earning a little extra profit. I have now collected the 1.5, 2, 3, and 4 quart sauce pan, and it is indeed worth the price! These pieces are thick with their five layers which beautifully distribute the heat and eliminates hot spots. The stainless interior is easy to clean. I usually would have trouble cleaning up my old pots after cooking starches (potatoes and pasta), but those "starch lines" are no problem with the LTD2.

Now some things that are not the best: The nub on the handle really helps when lifting these pots, but the 4 quart can be a bit awkward to handle if it is full due to its weight.

Also, I ordered the 3-quart from the amazon warehouse deals. First time I received it, it was LTD, not LTD2. Quick and easy return with Amazon. Then I saw another one come up on the warehouse deals, and I hoped against hope that it wasn't the same one. Silly me. It was. Once again, it was LTD instead of LTD2. In fact, the exact one I had returned. SO! important lesson to take away from that, if you see a 3-quart in the warehouse deals, it's probably LTD.

Unfortunately, the LTD2 appears to be retired, or in the process of being retired. These are still AMAZING pots and pans, and if you find a good deal on them, grab a set! Or two.
Great all-purpose pot!, (What's this?) This is a great all-purpose pot for smaller sauces. We use it for heating jars of pasta sauce and for cooking smaller amounts of our own sauces. The stainless interior accumulates just the right amount of stuck-on material for deglazing, cleans up beautifully, and the pot distributes heat well. The only (minor) drawback is that it's somewhat tall given its width, but that's not a major issue.
Good Workhorse, This pan cooks like a champ. I've used it on gas and electric and it always heats evenly. Gas stoves normally leave a cold spot at the center of the pan. But in this pan, the spot vanishes. I like the LTD2s because the exterior of the pans are aluminum which is more conductive than the usual stainless steel. As a result, the pan soaks up heat around it very quickly. Even if you have an old electric stove, you'll be amazed how fast water boils--especially given how thick the pan feels.

The one thing that might surprise a new buyer is the length of the handle. It's very long. I like that two oven mitts fit on the handle easily so it's stable in and out of the oven. On the cook-top, the handle almost never gets too hot to touch. When pouring pasta into a strainer, my hands are so far from the pan there's little risk of a steam burn. The handle is a good design choice for a pan that holds a gallon of hot liquid. But storing it in a cupboard is awkward. I did it for a while by stuffing smaller things under the mighty handle, but that is sub-optimal. You're really best off hanging this pan. If you live in a place where storage space is at a premium, consider a small stock pot instead. I think All-clad makes a 6 quart stock pot. Get it. It'll hold more liquid and store much easier.

If you've got room, this pan is a great workhorse. I love it and so will you.
Love my 1,1/2 quart All-Clad LTD2 pan, (What's this?) I love this pan! The black exterior always looks nice and is easy to care for.The heavy weight of the pan balances it perfectly, even when empty. It hears evenly.
All Clad 4 qt Sause Pan, (What's this?) Quality is the All Clad hallmark. Have purchased many of these pans over several years and all preform flawlessly. The cost is the only drawback. Have wanted this pan for some time and as a Prime member the saving on shiping and taxes helped add value to this purchase.

This 1-1/2-quart sauce pan makes clear why All-Clad's LTD2 cookware is so popular among contemporary cooks. It's 6 inches in diameter and 3-1/5 inches deep, perfect for making homemade marinara sauce, cooking noodles, heating soup, and much more. Oven-safe up to 500 degrees F, the cookware's polished stainless-steel lid fits evenly with the pan's edges to seal in flavor, and its long, polished stainless-steel handle comes secured with sturdy, non-corrosive rivets and stays cool to the touch on the stovetop. LTD2 cookware carries a limited lifetime warranty and cleans easily by hand or in the dishwasher (washing by hand recommended). Distinguished among All-Clad's renowned cookware collections by its stylish, charcoal black, hard-anodized aluminum exterior, the LTD2 line--the second generation of LTD--provides serious and professional cooks with all the virtues that make All-Clad's worldwide reputation unsurpassed. Key to its high performance is a five-ply, bonded construction that consists of an anodized-aluminum exterior, then a thick layer of pure aluminum, followed by a layer of 18/10 stainless steel, then another thick layer of pure aluminum, and an interior layer of 18/10 stainless steel--all of which spreads heat evenly across the bottoms of pots and pans and all the way up the sides. The cookware's striking exterior resists stains and abrasion, while its corrosion-resistant interior is nonreactive, so tomatoes and other acidic foods won't taste metallic.

Revere Polished Aluminum 1-Quart Nonstick Saucepan

Just a very good pot, (What's this?)
Incorrect Size / Diameter of Pan, (What's this?) Image looked good and the dimensions for the 1 Quart Saucepan was listed as :
    Product Dimensions: 8 x 3 x 11 inches
Shipping Weight: 1 pounds (View shipping rates and policies)
    ASIN: B00080QEI4
    Item model number: 1040103

BUT on arrival the diameter of pan was no where close to 8 inches which is the reason I got this. The actual dimensions are :
    Length = 11 inches
    Height = 2.5 inches
Diameter = 5.75 inches (not even close to 8 inches)

So I have to return this now and exchange for a 2 Quart one , but I will have to scale down its dimensions.

The pan material looks high quality and robust. Liked it. The handle is plastic and downside is no lid .Have to pay extra for that.

Update: Purchased a new one from Amazon with lid and similar size.
Junk, (What's this?) I have had this pot for less than 6 months. I only use it for cooking soft things. There are 9 decent sized chips on the botton where the teflon came off. In another 6 months to a year there will be no teflon left on the bottom. I have another one, a different brand, the same size that was approximately the same price. I have had longer and used it more. It has no chips in the teflon.
Bent, (What's this?) It's a great little pan, but I think it was tossed across the shipping department floor. It arrived dented on one side so the lid won't sit on it right. Otherwise it would have been a great review.

Revere 1400 Line 3-Quart Covered Saucepan

Only pot I have used in 25 years, (What's this?) I love my pans. I own four of the same pan and I have used it for every purpose imagineable.
revere ware cookware, (What's this?) The cooking pot is very nice and it looked just like the picture, except I was amazed at the metal was not as thick/heavy as my older revereware. The copper on the bottom of the pan stains easily also. The knib on the lid has already needed to be tightened.
Made in Indonesia, (What's this?) Well, we'll see. The packaging was such that it would be very inconvenient to send it back. Much to my dismay, I noticed on the back of the pot: Revere - Indonesia. Paul Revere was all about the United States of America. That's number 1.
fast delivery, (What's this?) They don't make Revere Ware like they did 30 years ago. Hard to clean, need to use steel wool. Fast delivery. It says 25 year warranty on the box. It might last that long if you don't use it. Sorry, but it's not a good product. But, a good seller.
    Poor quality!, (
Old versus New out of the Box, (What's this?) I too have been a long term fan of Revere Ware. What I have owned has held up well, and heated faster than other pans.
I like it., My saucepan got here quickly, it was well-wrapped and came to me in good shape. It was exactly what I was looking for.
Great Revere pot, (What's this?) We have been using Revere pots and pans for over 35 years. They are amazing. They just keep going. I broke one handle on the dutch oven about 20 years ago. That's been our only issue, and it was our fault. Revere makes great products.
This one quickly wobbled, (What's this?) This is one of the few items I've ever returned. It warped within the first couple of uses. The old model we had lasted for ages, and I was hopeful, given some good reviews here, this new model might be adequate. I was disappointed; if you do buy it, expect wobble to develop, unless you only use it on rather low heat.
best cooking pot ever................................, (What's this?) I have had my 3qt. for many years...took something to a neighbor in it...and he really liked it so I bought him one......have all sizes myself..

Simply Calphalon Stainless 1 Quart Saucepan

Calphalon Stainless saucepan, 1 qt, (What's this?) I live alone and just love this saucepan. It is the right size to cook vegetables, rice, etc for me and sometime a serving left over for lunch the next day. Has a clear lid with a burn proof handle on the lid, so you don't burn your fingers. I like the lid so I can see how things are going. Has a burn free handle on it also. Use it daily but still looks good.
Simply Caphlon, (What's this?) Was sceptical at first to order this item because it is new from Caphalon. But, I love it. High quality, and best of all it is dishwasher safe. Also has gripper handle on the saucepan and the lid.
Never Enough Sauce Pans, (What's this?) Seems I use a sauce pan, or two, every night cooking dinner. As a single guy, I may have the two I have unwashed in the dishwasher when I need them.

Emeril Stainless Steel 3-Quart Sauce Pan with Pour Spouts and Lid

Emeril Stainless Steel 3-Quart Sauce Pan with Pour Spouts and Lid
Induction Friendly at a Reasonable Price, (What's this?) Not all 18/10 cookware are equally induction-friendly. Some, like my All-Clad, make true Electrolux's boast of 90-second-to-boil. Others, not so much.
These Emeril Stainless Steel Saucepans work as well as the All-Clad, and are reasonably priced for the quality.
There are other features that I find useful:
    * The handles on both sides makes moving full pots easier,
    * The pouring spout and strainer lids allow steam to escape (a plus at times, sometimes, less so),
    * The internal measurement marks come in handy,
    * The pots work equally well on the radiant burners.
I have used these pots extensively over the last couple of months, and am sufficiently pleased with them that I am considering purchasing other Emeril products.
Pot Review, (What's this?) I bought this product to replace a small pot that I accidently burned. The product was exactly what I wanted and it works really well. The clean up in my dishwasher was excellent. I would buy it again. In fact I might buy another one because I really use the smaller pots alot in my kitchen.
Nice little pan, (What's this?) Gave this as a birthday gift in November and she says is very happy with it. Especially liked one of the "tips" from Emeril in the packaging about adding salt after liquid is boiling to avoid pitting the stainless steel - what happened to her old pan. Working well so far.
    Very disappointed, (What's this?)
I was disappointed as soon as I unboxed this pan. It's a large pan, four quarts, but it is so light weight. I can't see how it could hold up at all.

The disc on the bottom looks thick and substantial, but the light weight of the pan says the heating disc can't be filled with copper.

The small handle is made from a flat piece of metal; it's not ergonomic, convenient, or comfortable. I set some weight (packaged dry beans) in the pan and tried to lift it. The metal of the small handle dug into my hand. The handle of the lid is small, and has rather uncomfortable edges.

Since this pan is made by All-Clad, and carries the name of celebrity chef, I expected to receive a piece of cookware that was a bit above average. For $65 I expected quality. I got neither.

Thankfully Amazon has a user-friendly return policy. As soon as I get my refund, I'll start shopping, again, for a sturdy, well made, 4-quart saucepan.
Great pan!, (What's this?) i have had it for eight months now and the pan has worked great. Great quality! No scratches or anything. The food doesn't get stuck in the bottom. The lid is also very useful.
Love it!, (What's this?) The pan heats up quite quickly and evenly. The glass lid is great for checking on foods. Use it at medium temperature so you will not burn the foods. Cleaning it is easy .
Wonderful pan, great price, (What's this?) Love the quality, look, and feel of this saucepan. Price was great. Description said used, but it was in a pristine package and looked absolutely brand new.
    It's a pot, (What's this?)
Super Pot, (What's this?) Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my family. I purchased the 4qt pot, and it is perfect for a growing family. We have a set of Emeril cookware, and I must add that the grade of stainless steel is thinner then our other pieces. But we have not had any problems with cooking or cleaning this pot. The fact that the lid has steam vents is a great feature. We are very happy with this pot and I am considering purchasing the 3qt pot as well. You can never have to many pots for a family of 5.
Awesome product!, (What's this?) I bought a set of Emeril cookware and wanted to add pieces as I needed them. I purchased this not too long ago and I love the pot! I've used it a few times and it heats up very quickly on a gas stove. I haven't had any issues at all with any of the pots or pans. This pot is All Clad, just like the set that I purchased at a military base.
